CTDOT TO HOST RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY AT THE NEW HARTFORD LINE STATION IN MERIDEN

Residents, businesses, and rail passengers are welcome to attend!

 On Thursday, April 19, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will host a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new CTrail Hartford Line Meriden Station! The station is located at 60 State Street, and opened last fall in advance of the upcoming launch of CTrail Hartford Line rail service.

The Meriden station features amenities aimed at providing a high-quality passenger experience, including high-level platforms, an overhead pedestrian bridge, overhead canopies, automatic snow melting systems, a passenger information display system, electric vehicle charging, and bicycle racks. The station includes a 65-space surface parking lot, with 225 spaces of public parking also available the newly constructed parking garage at the intersection of Colony Street and Church Street. Construction began in December 2014 and cost approximately $21 million.
