The Meriden Farmers Market, Inc. is now a registered corporation in Connecticut, and has been determined to be a tax exempt, public charity by the IRS, and is licensed by the State of Connecticut to solicit funds, and to have fund raising operations.

They also realize that the Market builds community and helps to create the town square/meeting place common to New England Towns. The Market is a key piece of the downtown rejuvenation.
