Is Panhandling Legal? 

Panhandling is not illegal unless the individual is blocking traffic or harassing you in some fashion. If you witness or experience aggressive panhandling, call 911 and provide a brief description of the individual and the location.

Do NOT give cash to panhandlers

Meriden is positioning signs, like the one shown below, throughout the city, where panhandling has been prominent.
