The City of Meriden Department of Fire Services is accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the position of Entry Level Firefighter. Women/Minorities are encouraged to apply.
The application process will close on Sunday, August 30, 2026. A non-refundable $85.00 application fee is required at time of application submission.
1. Be U.S. citizens or have valid Green Cards
2. HS diploma or equivalent
3. Must pass a background check prior to appointment
4. Must become cert firefighter, EMT-B, and obtain a CT license to drive fire apparatus within one year of appointment

The salary range, based on the current Collective Bargaining Agreement, is $66,677.52 – $92,383.20.
