Sustainable Meriden Finalizes the Barristers Court Downtown-Dining Program

MERIDEN-- Sustainable Meriden is a student-led program that engages the community to achieve Meriden’s sustainability goals. Through the efforts of this program, environmental and social goals are achieved while promoting a vibrant community and economic growth. This summer, the Sustainable Meriden program has created and completed the Barristers Court Downtown Dining program aimed at community members, tourists and local businesses.

The Barrister Court Downtown Dining program offers outdoor seating and dining accommodations in downtown Meriden located on Barristers Court. This outdoor dining option will run from Thursday, July 1, until the end of the year.

"The Barristers Court Downtown Dining program supports our local businesses and restaurants. The City and Sustainable Meriden look forward to partnering with restaurants to expand the capacity for outdoor dining while offering an enjoyable dining experience downtown," said Director of Planning, Development and Enforcement Paul Dickson.

“We hope this program assists in driving up the economy for our local restaurants,” said Director of Economic Development Joseph Feest. “Like other surrounding towns, the outdoor area option will provide our community with an added value for all patrons and all restaurants in Meriden,” said Director of Economic Development Joseph Feest.

With the help of our Sustainable Meriden program and collaborative efforts from several City departments, the Barristers Court Downtown-Dining program is completed and accessible to the public.

Details regarding a grand opening will be provided in a future announcement.
