City of Meriden Launches DiscoverMeriden.com Community Website

MERIDENThe City of Meriden is pleased to announce that its Economic Department, The Making Meriden Business Center and MEDCO (Meriden Economic Development Corporation) have jointly launched an exciting new website, ‘DiscoverMeriden’ (www.DiscoverMeriden.com) to promote the city, local businesses and events while also serving as a unified calendar for all area happenings. The platform is powered by Connecticut-based CivicLift and is an innovative hub where the public can sign up for an account and share cultural, recreational, arts and business events occurring within Meriden.

The concept of DiscoverMeriden was manifested after receiving public feedback at a Plan of Conservation and Development process where multiple residents wanted a single unified calendar of events in the area. The site is now an interactive hub where the public can easily submit events and contribute to the site’s content while also discovering other events and finding local businesses and community organizations via the interactive map.

“The City of Meriden is committed to growing its local economy through business attraction and retention,” said Joseph Feest, City of Meriden Director of Economic Development. “The launch of ‘DiscoverMeriden’ will be a key resource for Meriden’s businesses and it will be a one-stop shop for the public to learn about all that the city offers in terms of business and culture.”

“CivicLift is thrilled to bring our community engagement platform to the City of Meriden,” said CivicLift Founder, Evan Dobos. “The site is designed to be a single online resource to showcase local events, destinations, and good-news stories Meriden has to offer. We are so pleased to be a part of Meriden’s efforts to lead the city forward with a refreshed identity in 2020 and beyond. It is exciting to see Meriden’s growth and development and I’m confident this site will help reinforce that belief in the city’s residents.”
