CREATING HEALTHY SPACES:
In July 2016 all Meriden parks and recreation areas went tobacco free.
In addition, in August 2017 a new ordinance (Chapter 153) went into effect making all areas within 25 feet of operable windows, doors, and air intakes around municipal building tobacco free.
MERIDEN GREEN WALKING MAP -Walk this way! If you walk the perimeter sidewalks of the new Meriden Green, you will have walked 0.74 miles. Other walking routes are marked. Click on the map to the left for a bigger view. And remember, the Green is tobacco free!
CAR SEAT INSPECTIONS AND INSTALLATIONS - The Meriden Health Department has been recognized as a fitting station by the Connecticut Department of Transportation. We have three Nationally Certified staff that can inspect and/or install car seats. An appointment can be made by calling Stephanie Denya @ 203-630-4223.
We also offer Child Passenger Installation classes throughout the year for parents and caregivers. These classes are taught by CCMC's Safe Kids CT but are taught at our Miller Street location. Through the Injury Prevention Grant, we are able to provide free car seats at these events. Like us on Facebook to receive notifications of upcoming classes.
